Network Migration and Application Integration for Veolia

Enhancing Network Integration Post-Merger

After acquiring Suezaus, Veolia faced the challenge of integrating 75 newly acquired offices and their IT infrastructure into its existing network. The goal was to achieve seamless connectivity and align with Veolia's established compliance and operational standards. This integration included migrating critical applications and ensuring robust security while maintaining minimal disruption to business operations.

What we did?

  • Migrated the network infrastructure, including LAN, Wireless, Firewalls, Switches, and Network Access Control (NAC), from New Veolia offices to Veolia’s network.
  • Transitioned key applications hosted in New Veolia’s datacenter to Veolia’s AWS Cloud datacenter.
  • Configured and implemented firewall rules to ensure secure data flow between the AWS datacenter and Veolia’s SY3 datacenter.

How we did it?

Infrastructure Assessment and Planning

  • Conducted a detailed audit of New Veolia’s existing network infrastructure.
  • Designed a migration plan to align with Veolia’s network standards and security protocols.

Network and Infrastructure Integration

  • Migrated 75 office networks, including LAN and wireless configurations, to Veolia’s infrastructure.
  • Updated and applied NAC policies to secure the network against unauthorized access.
  • Configured switches and firewalls to establish connectivity between offices and datacenters.

Application Migration

  • Identified critical applications like Mainpac, SCCM, and Google AppSheet for migration.
  • Coordinated with the security team to create and validate firewall rules for each application.
  • Tested application performance post-migration to ensure business continuity.

Compliance and Testing

  • Collaborated with the security team for Technical Design Authority (TDA) approvals.
  • Used a ticketing system to document changes, track progress, and test applications post-migration.

The Outcome

The migration was successfully completed, integrating all 75 offices and their applications into Veolia’s network. The result was a unified, secure, and compliant infrastructure where applications operated as expected, meeting Veolia’s business requirements.
